How Strava Club Events sync into Who's In
Once you've linked your Strava club, Strava Club Events appear on your public Who's In page alongside any native Who's In events. Here's how the sync works.
When sync runs - Hourly automatic sync — every linked club is checked once an hour for new, edited, or removed events - Manual "Sync now" button — on the same Settings → Integrations screen, hit Sync now to pull the latest immediately. Rate-limited to one sync every 5 minutes per club so we stay within Strava's API quotas - Webhooks — Strava also pings us in real time when events change, so most updates land within seconds of you editing them on Strava
What we pull for each event - Title and description - Date, start time, and timezone - Location (route start point, postcode, address — whatever Strava has) - Activity type (run, ride, swim, etc.) - Distance, elevation, terrain (when set on Strava) - Cover image (the Strava club cover or per-event image) - A deep link back to the Strava event page
What members see on Who's In Synced events show up in the same event card layout as native Who's In events, marked with a "Powered by Strava" badge. The main CTA is RSVP on Strava — tapping it opens the Strava event page where the member registers. RSVPs live on Strava, not Who's In, because Strava is where members are already tracking the workout.
Why RSVPs don't live on Who's In Strava's API doesn't let third parties create RSVPs on behalf of members. The next best thing is what we've built: surface the event on your Who's In page, then deep-link to Strava for the actual sign-up. Members who are already in the Strava app stay in it; members who came in via your Who's In page get one tap to register.
Editing synced events Synced Strava events are read-only on Who's In. If you need to change the title, time, location, or anything else, edit it on Strava — the change will propagate to Who's In on the next webhook or within the hour, whichever is sooner.
Removing an event If you delete an event on Strava, it disappears from your Who's In page on the next sync (usually within minutes via webhook).
