Not a Registered Nonprofit?
You Need a Different Platform
Credit where it's due: Zeffy's $0 model is real — registered charities pay no platform or card fees, funded by optional tips their supporters are asked for at checkout. But if you're a community organiser, club, studio or small business, Zeffy's payout onboarding requires a nonprofit registration number you don't have. Who's In is free for free events, charges 2.7% flat on paid tickets, and never asks your buyers to tip anyone.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about switching from Zeffy
Is Zeffy really free, or is there a catch?▼
It's really free — for registered nonprofits. Zeffy's published pricing (checked July 2026) covers platform and card fees entirely and funds itself through an optional tip suggested to your supporters at checkout, which they can adjust. The honest 'catch' is eligibility, not hidden fees: receiving payouts requires a nonprofit registration number (US EIN, Canadian CRA number, or UK charity number) and a bank account in the nonprofit's name.
Why would I use Who’s In instead of Zeffy?▼
Three main reasons. First, eligibility: if you're not a registered nonprofit — a yoga instructor, running club, book group, PTA without charitable status, or small business — Zeffy isn't available to you, and Who's In is, with a free tier for free events. Second, checkout control: Who's In never asks your buyers for a tip; they pay exactly your price. Third, the event toolkit: automatic waitlists, recurring auto-schedule, WhatsApp-native reminders, multi-admin QR check-in and Wallet passes are all included.
When is Zeffy the better choice?▼
When you're a registered 501(c)(3), CRA-registered charity or UK registered charity and fundraising is the core job: collecting donations with automatic tax receipts, running raffles and auctions, or peer-to-peer campaigns. Zeffy covers your platform and card fees entirely under its tip-funded model — for that use case it's genuinely the cheapest option, and we'd rather tell you that than pretend otherwise.
Does Who’s In add anything to my buyers’ checkout?▼
No. Your buyers pay the ticket price you set — there is no tip prompt, no donation ask, and no buyer-side platform fee added at checkout. Who's In charges the organiser a flat 2.7% platform fee on paid tickets (free events are free), and that fee is automatically refunded if you refund the ticket.
Can I collect membership dues or class payments with Who’s In?▼
Yes — that's a structural difference. Zeffy's membership forms are built for nonprofit members and donors. Who's In has dedicated paid products: Studio (class scheduling, packages and member self-booking, from $19/mo up to 99 active members) and Clubs (membership tiers, dues and events). The free Events product handles one-off and recurring paid events at 2.7% flat.
Where does my money go with each platform?▼
With Who's In, payments route through your own Stripe account — money lands with you as tickets sell, and Who's In never holds your funds. With Zeffy, payments and payouts run through Zeffy's platform (it partners with Stripe under the hood and covers the processing fees for nonprofits). Both are legitimate models; they're just different custody arrangements.

Free for free events, 2.7% flat on paid tickets, and your buyers only ever pay your price.
