Captain

A captain is a club role focused on leading specific groups, runs, or events, distinct from committee governance. Common in running clubs (run captain), cycling clubs (ride captain), sailing clubs (boat captain), and outdoor clubs (trip captain). Captains lead from the front, set the pace, ensure safety, and act as the on-the-ground link between members and committee. Some clubs reward captains with reduced or waived dues.
