Automatic billing is the recurring charge of a member's payment method on a fixed schedule (typically monthly or annually) for membership dues. Modern platforms handle automatic billing via Stripe Connect with built-in dunning sequences (3-7 retry attempts on failed payments), card-update notifications (90 days before card expiry), and automatic suspension after N failed attempts. Reduces admin overhead and improves cash flow.
