Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a security mechanism that requires users to provide two pieces of evidence to log in: something they know (password) + something they have (phone, security key) or something they are (biometric). Modern event platforms support 2FA via SMS code, authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy), or hardware key (YubiKey) — typically required for organiser + admin accounts handling payments + member data.
