Equipment hire is the rental of studio gear (mats, blocks, straps, reformers, gloves, mitts) on a per-class or per-month basis when students don't bring their own. Common in travel-yoga studios, climbing gyms, martial arts dojos, and pilates reformer studios. Hire fees offset cleaning costs and equipment depreciation while keeping the barrier to first-class entry low.
